Corrections Policy
Last updated · applies to blog.skrill.app
Skrill makes mistakes. This page describes how we handle them when we do.
What counts as a correction
A factual error: a wrong number, a misattributed quote, an incorrect date, a mischaracterised source. Corrections are distinct from updates, which add new information to an article that was accurate when published.
How we correct
- The error is fixed in the article text.
- A correction note is added at the foot of the article stating what was wrong, what it now says, and the date of the change.
- The article's revision date is updated.
For errors that change the conclusion of an article, the note appears at the top rather than the foot, and the change is announced in the next newsletter.
What we do not do
- We do not delete articles to avoid correcting them.
- We do not correct silently. Every factual change carries a note.
- We do not remove a correction note once the error is fixed. The record stays.
Reporting an error
If you believe an article on Skrill contains a factual error, tell us through the contact page, naming the article and the claim. We aim to acknowledge reports within two working days and to resolve them within ten.
Typographical errors
Spelling and formatting fixes that do not change meaning are made without a note.
Record
